On Oct. 4, 1895, the first US Open Championship was conducted by the United States Golf Association on the nine-hole course of Newport Golf and Country Club. While the US Open’s format has changed several times since then, it has never lost any of the gusto that makes it America’s finest golf championship. The Trophy Club is an exclusive, air-conditioned pavilion which is completely furnished including television monitors. It includes a wide selection of food and beverages for purchase and is known for its great atmosphere.
